How much should you pay for a good pipe lighter

As the title suggests I’m asking the question, “How much should you pay for a good Pipe Lighter?”  Since lighters range in cost from a $1 Bic to around a $1,000 for a pimped out DuPont, how much is enough to get a good, reliable pipe lighter that will last you for years to come?
IPhone 10 28 12 145 150x150 How Much Should You Pay For A Good Pipe Lighter? At the lower end of the spectrum you can buy an IMCO G77R for around $12-$15.  It has a 45 degree angled flame, flint & wheel ignition with a flame adjustment wheel.  But it is made out of plastic and feels rather flimsey.
On the other hand you go with the Zippo which should run you somewhere between $15-$25; with the pipe insert. Zippo Pipe Lighter 150x150 How Much Should You Pay For A Good Pipe Lighter? It also, has flint & wheel ignition and is almost indestructible with its metal casing.  But with it’s liquid lighter fluid the taste transfer of the fluid to the tobacco leaves something to be desired.

Next you go opt for the Vertigo Briar which costs in the neighborhood of $25-$35.
vertigo briar Pipe Ligher 150x150 How Much Should You Pay For A Good Pipe Lighter? It is also made of metal and is fashioned after the IM Corona Old Boy.  I must say an attractive lighter.  It feels rather hefty and sound, but they tend to get somewhat “loose”  around the extended arm and the strike wheel causing some issues after a few months.

Xikar Pipe Line Silver Black 150x150 How Much Should You Pay For A Good Pipe Lighter?Or, you could step up to the Xikar Pipe Line; another Old Boy look alike, which weighs in at around $50-$60.  It comes with the horizontal strike wheel, flint ignition, 90 degree side angled soft flame and built in tamp. Not a bad lighter.

And if you want to have the coolest pipe lighter on the block you can empty your piggy bank and splurge for the IM Corona Old Boy ($100-$250); truly a nice lighter.  Corona Old Boy Pipe Lighter Chrome with LInes 150x150 How Much Should You Pay For A Good Pipe Lighter? Again, it has flint ignition, horizontal double strike wheel, built in tamp, 90 degree side angled soft flame, but again costs over $100 and only has a 2 year warranty.  Most repairs (and all lighters need them at some time) will cost you around $50 or so.  So, is it worth the money?

So, how much should you pay? $15? $30? $50? or over $100?

What if I told you that you could have all the features of the $160 lighter; flint ignition, 90 degree side angled soft flame, built in tamp, horizontal double strike wheel, solid metal materials and construction AND a LIFETIME WARRANTY?  and no one would know the difference between your amazing lighter and the $160 IM Corona?  You’d have the best of both worlds; the coolest lighter on the block and the satisfaction of knowing you paid HALF price for it?  That’s right HALF PRICE of the IM Corona Pewter or Gold with Pipe Shapes (MSRP at $160) WITH A LIFETIME REPLACEMENT WARRANTY!

So if you’d thought about buying the Old Boy you should think about buying this BAD BOY. Here, take a look.

Best Pipe Lighter Period!!!!

A few months ago I bought a Chinese made lighter for my collection. To my utter surprise I was shocked at what I received! Instead of a flimsy, plastic, poorly made piece of crap I received a high quality, precision crafted pipe lighter that immediately became my everyday go to lighter. This lighter is the epitome of what a pipe lighter should be. It has all the bells and whistles; flint ignition, horizontal strike wheel, side angled soft flame, engraved pipe charts displaying 25 if the most recognized pipe shapes, built in tamp and pick, extra large butane fuel tank, easy access flame adjustment a LIFE TIME WARRANTY and at HALF THE PRICE of the Japanese made Corona (which only has a two year replacement warranty)!!!
It was then that I decided that the only thing better than owning a high priced Corona Old Boy was getting a better lighter with a better warranty at HALF THE PRICE!
I was so impressed with this lighter that I contacted the distributor and ordered 30 of them which sold out in only two weeks. This your chance to own this amazing lighter. Just click the link below for more information. www.pipelighters.net

    Pipe Lighters Vs. Matches

Among pipe smokers there is a running debate about the proper way to light your pipe. Some say matches are the only "proper" method while others purport that having just the right angled flame pipe lighter answers better to the task.
