How much should you pay for a good pipe lighter

As the title suggests I’m asking the question, “How much should you pay for a good Pipe Lighter?”  Since lighters range in cost from a $1 Bic to around a $1,000 for a pimped out DuPont, how much is enough to get a good, reliable pipe lighter that will last you for years to come?
At the lower end of the spectrum you can buy an IMCO G77R for around $12-$15.  It has a 45 degree angled flame, flint & wheel ignition with a flame adjustment wheel.  But it is made out of plastic and feels rather flimsey.
  On the other hand you go with the Zippo which should run you somewhere between $15-$25; with the pipe insert.  It also, has flint & wheel ignition and is almost indestructible with its metal casing.  But with it’s liquid lighter fluid the taste transfer of the fluid to the tobacco leaves something to be desired.

Next you go opt for the Vertigo Briar which costs in the neighborhood of $25-$35.
 It is also made of metal and is fashioned after the IM Corona Old Boy.  I must say an attractive lighter.  It feels rather hefty and sound, but they tend to get somewhat “loose”  around the extended arm and the strike wheel causing some issues after a few months.

Or, you could step up to the Xikar Pipe Line; another Old Boy look alike, which weighs in at around $50-$60.  It comes with the horizontal strike wheel, flint ignition, 90 degree side angled soft flame and built in tamp. Not a bad lighter.

And if you want to have the coolest pipe lighter on the block you can empty your piggy bank and splurge for the IM Corona Old Boy ($100-$250); truly a nice lighter.   Again, it has flint ignition, horizontal double strike wheel, built in tamp, 90 degree side angled soft flame, but again costs over $100 and only has a 2 year warranty.  Most repairs (and all lighters need them at some time) will cost you around $50 or so.  So, is it worth the money?

So, how much should you pay? $15? $30? $50? or over $100?
